What do you think the above image is about?

The above image shows a great football player, Andrew Johns who is an inspirational person for how well he plays football. and on the otherside their is mother theresa who is an inspirational person in a totally different way as she cares for others e.g. the sick, the homeless.

List 5 personal qualities of Andrew Johns

  • captain of the Newcastle Knights

  • cares for the sick
  • cares for the homeless
  • cares for people in poor countries
  • cares for people with no food

4. Discuss what you believe the difference is between inspiring people and inspiring people of faith.

An inpirational person usually does something to get his reputation up and for the money. An inspirational person of faith helps out the community and the people who are sick and homeless.

what is an exposition?

An exposition is used to give an explanation or explain something in detail. 

 What is a thesis point?

 

 how is an exposition text type structured?

 There are 3 parts of an exposition text type, they are:

Introductory statement: Explains the writers point of view and briefly explains the arguments that are going to be presented.

Series of Arguments: persuades the reader for each argument.

Conclusion: sums up the writers point of view and explains the writers point of view.

are you satisfied with the groups so far?

Yes, I am satisfied with the group because we all do our work without any arguments and we share the work around equally.  We are also doing our work on time so we wont hand in the project  late.

Who is not pulling their weight? 

Everyone in my group is sharing the work around equally and no one is slacking off.

Journal Entry 5 – Marist Charism

1. Define the word Charism.

Charism is a gift that is freely given by God to an individual or a group of people.

2. Marcellin Champagnat outlined FIVE marist charisms that are identified within Marist schools.
Describe THREE of these charisms.

Deep Concern – This is when a person cares about people other than himself, these people care about the sick, the poor, the homeless etc. St.Marcellin shows many of these characteristics which made him such a great person.

Open Minded – People who are open minded are people who treat everyone equally weather it be their race, skin colour etc. St.Marcellin Champagnat showed this characteristic.

 Strength of Character – This is a person who has a good attitude and never gives up even when things aren’t going his/her way. This is another characteristic that St.Marcellin Champagnat showed.
 

3. Provide THREE examples of how you have seen these charisms evident within Parramatta Marist.

Deep concern – i have seen this charism in parramatta marist when we raise money for charity such as Caritas Australia.

Open Minded - this charism has been shown in parramatta marist as we all treat each other equally and show respect to eachother.

Strength of Character – The marist MCS teams show this as they never give up even when they are losing.

4. List and describe TWO ways you believe we can create a better sense of ‘Marist Family’ within Parramatta Marist.

Deep Concern – we can have fundraisers more often to help the less fortuned people around the world.

Deep Concern – everyone in the school should donate money to caritas instead of just half the class donating.

1. List and Describe THREE different award programs (e.g “The Australian of the Year”)
Provide hyperlinks to their respective websites.

Austrailian of the Year – The Australian of the year award is awarded to those who have a consistent record of excellence, who have made outstanding achievements in their field, and contributed in a significant way to the nation.

Aria Music Awards - The Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards is an annual award. to be eligible for this award you must have a song release in a period of that certain year.

Grammy Awards – The four major awards are record of the year, album of the year, song of the year and Brand new artist.

2. List as many characteristics as you can that are used to judge nominations for these awards. Remember some may not be easy to find you will have to work hard.

* must be an austrailian citizen.

* must have an album/song released in that year.

* must be helpful to the community.

muhammad ali (Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr.) was born on january 17 1942. he was born in Louiseville, Kentuckey and he was named after his father Cassius Marcellus Clay Sr. He is an american boxer who is now retired. he has fought many fights and has been the world heavyweight champion three times. in 1964 he changed his name and became islamic.

2. Discuss briefly why you consider them to be inspiring.

because he was a great man who stood up for what he believed in. he was also a great boxer.

3.Import atleast ONE picture and ONE hyperlink that can add to the information you have provided about your inspiring person or inspiring people in general.
