1. Open and read the “How to write a critique” document in the resources menu.

Describe what is a critique.

an essay or article that gives a critical evaluation

2. Outline the FOUR stages in a critique.

Intro – names the article and its topic. You may also include some important facts.

Summary – A summary of the original story.

Analysis – a form of literary criticism in which the structure of a piece of writing is analyzed.

Evaluation – Figure out weather the article is of good or bad value. You can give a general comment and/or message on the topic (remember, can be either positive or negative or even both)

3. Can a critique be positive? Discuss.

Yes a critique can be positive. It depends on whether the story has been changed to be more interesting for the reader. a positive critique would be if the story was an original and the have evidence or a reliable source.
